PLAY with TPFR on the Big Gunpowder Falls River for a beautiful day of fishing

When:     Saturday December 2nd   8 am -ish  until whenever

Where:    Gunpowder Falls - Bunker Hill access point (the south east side of the river with a large parking lot)    CLICK HERE FOR INFO SHEET

Hey all - it is getting closer and the weather is lookin' good for another Gunpowder Fishing Day on the water with TPFR.

The previous Gunpowder Fishing Days have been quite the hit. So we are doing it again and keeping the same free form approach: show up, meet folks, tell fish stories, go fish, and relax amidst the beautiful surroundings of the Gunpowder.   If you arrive before 8am, some of the other usual suspects from the Sunday Casting Church will be on hand to help.

If you haven't been to the Gunpowder Falls, this will be a fun way to fish this tailwater of the Pretty Boy Reservoir, just north of Baltimore and put some of those casting skills to use.  For more information about Gunpowder Falls see the MD site.

Hope to see you there.

Annual fishing tournament prior to September Beer Tie. You get to fish for bragging rights, biggest fish, smallest fish, prettiest fish, most fish. One of our biggest fund raisers. Medals awarded to winners at Beer Tie. The term 'bluegill' can be used for any member of the fish family Centrarchidae except for large and smallmouth bass.

Casting Church

Second Sunday of the month at Fletchers Cove. Work on your single and two-handed casting with FFI Certified Casting Instructors. Bring waders and your gear. Instructors will have rods rigged for you to try different models, lengths, weights, and line varieties.

Beer Tie

Our signature event. Held on the Monday immediately following Casting Church each month at Colony Grill upstairs on the second floor in Clarendon.

Fly tying starts at 7pm . The event is all ages despite the name. Happy hour from 6-7. Fly tying 7-9.

Tools and materials are provided at no cost. The fly tying class is always free and the fly reflects what the fish are eating during that month. Share a favorite pattern, show off a tying hack, parade your new materials, or demonstrate a technique. Pick up TPFR merch. We currently have hats and shirts.
