Dan Davala

President

Dan Davala, FFF Master Certified Casting Instructor

Dan founded the Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders in April of 2009 to draw attention to the world class fly fishing we have available in our Nation's River. Dan was born in Fairfax, Virginia and has fished the lakes, rivers, streams and beaches of this region since he was a child. He started fishing with his Grandfather at the age of five, and picked up the fly rod at the age of fourteen. Dan is passionate about fly fishing in all its forms, whether crouching through a small mountain stream for Brook Trout, plying the surf with a stripping basket strapped to his waist, or launching huge articulated flies into the churning waters of our Tidal Potomac with Skagit lines and two-handed rods. He is equally passionate about sharing the knowledge he has gained and teaching others. As the full time Fishing Manager at the Orvis Store in Arlington, VA, he has committed his life to the sport and interacts daily with the local fly fishing communiity. Dan lives in Centreville, VA with the love of his life, his wife and best friend Melody, and their daughter and son, Virginia and Paul. E-mail Dan at president@tpfr.org.
